The Football League

The Football League is a league competition featuring professional association football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888, it is the oldest such competition in world football. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation in the 19th century until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split away to form the Premier League. The Football League has been associated with a title sponsor since 1983. As this sponsor has changed over the years the league too has been known by various names. Presently, it is called the Sky Bet Football League after its sponsor, Sky Betting and Gaming. Brighton play in the Skybet Championship. Website

 

The Football Conference

The Football Conference is a men's football league in England consisting of three divisions, the Conference Premier, Conference North and Conference South. The Conference South is the sixth tier of English football and made up of semi-professional clubs from the southern half of England. Eastbourne Borough are currently in the Conference South Division. Ryman Isthmian Football League

The Isthmian League is a football league covering London and South East England featuring mostly semi-professional clubs. It is sponsored by Ryman, and therefore officially known as the Ryman League. It was founded in 1905 by amateur clubs in the London area. It now consists of 66 teams in three divisions; the Premier Division above its two feeder divisions, Division One North and Division One South. Hastings United are currently in Division One South. Southern Compination Football League

Formerly the Sussex County Football League is a football league broadly covering the counties of East Sussex, West Sussex and southeastern Surrey, England.

Originally formed in 1920, the league now has six divisions – three for first teams and three for reserve sides. The first team divisions – One, Two and Three, sit at Levels 9, 10 and 11 of the English football league system, below the regional divisions of the Isthmian League and the Southern League. The reserve divisions are not part of the league system. Website

 

East Sussex Football League

The East Sussex Football League is an English football competition for clubs based in or close to East Sussex. Non-Sussex clubs that enter are normally from Kent and based close to the county border. The league has a total of 7 divisions, headed by the Premier Division, which sits at level 12 of the national league system and is a feeder to the Sussex County League. Website

 

Sussex County FA Disability League

The Sussex County FA Disability League is played at the Hassocks Sports Centre, Hassocks, usually on the 3rd Sunday of each month between September and June (with a Winter break!).

The League was originally set up in 2009 and offers competitive football at a central venue for both adult and youth teams. All matches are 7 a-side and played on the artificial 3G surface. All matches are officiated by fully qualified referees appointed by the League. Website
